Christmas Knocked on the “Arevik-Armenia” Center’s Door Too…

On December 21, 2019, Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization’s (Aleppo-NGO) “Arevik-Armenia” Center for Syrian-Armenian children of special needs celebrated New Year at Aleppo-NGO’s office. After welcome speech Zarmine Minassian congratulated everyone with the upcoming holidays and all together started singing festive songs.

The meeting was accompanied with songs and dances, conversations and jokes continued around the festive table.

Unexpectedly Santa Claus arrived and distributed presents to the children and created more festive atmosphere with the active participation of the members of the Center’s Board of Trustees and parents.

Locin Shohmelian, Tutorship Chairperson of “Arevik-Armenia” center, congratulated the attendees wishing happy and successful year and expressed a will to continue the meetings of the center in the new year.

During the years of activity of “Arevik-Armenia” center, children with disabilities received inclusive education free of charge, such as mathematics courses, painting, musical, physical, as well as theater-therapy and speech development classes. The children with special needs, who had undergone the Syrian war, were released from linguistic obstacles and obtained various skills for handmade works. “Arevik-Armenia” center received support from many individual benefactors and organizations, such as “MTS Armenia”, US Embassy in Armenia and “UMCOR-Armenia” Charitable Foundation.
