Syrian-Armenian youth’s visit to Marie Izmirlian Orphanage

On December 19, 2015 more than 30 Syrian-Armenian young people visited Marie Izmirlian Orphanage.

This voluntary initiative was carried out by “Aleppo” Compatriotic Charitable Organization’s project entitled “Syrian-Armenian Youth for a Better Future”, which is funded by the Embassy of the United States of America in Armenia.

Syrian-Armenian Youth’s visit has brought great enthusiasm and joy to more than 100 children on the New Year eve. Young people were not sparing their efforts to make children’s Christmas wishes come true, thus through fundraising, they had prepared small gifts for children.

Orphanage children were happily surprised. Receiving the gifts, they were scrutinizing them with great interest first, then leaping and showing them to their friends. The young Syrian-Armenians were also very excited in that warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, for they found their unbending will to warm the hearts of children, although they themselves had witnessed the scourge of war, were forced to leave their homes and find shelter in Armenia.

The orphanage’s staff expressed their deep gratitude to the Syrian-Armenian young volunteers for organizing such a beautiful and touching event.
