In July 2016, the second stage of the “Traditional Armenian carpet weaving classes for women” program, initiated by the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization and implemented with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH within the framework of the “EU Targeted Initiative for Armenia” program was launched.

14 women – participants of the program, will acquire carpet weaving skill and will learn more about the distinctive features of the Armenian carpet weaving tradition. They will also develop their own creative abilities.

By the end of the 2-stage program, 28 women will have the opportunity to present their own carpets to the public at an exhibition-sale.

As a reminder,Aleppo CCO implements the “Traditional Armenian carpet weaving classes for women” program with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH within the framework of the “EU Targeted Initiative for Armenia” program.

The “Traditional Armenian carpet weaving classes for women” program aims to help Syrian and local women develop their entrepreneurship skills, and improve their participation in the economy, as well as their social conditions in Armenia.
