Aleppo NGO provides 380 Syrian Armenians with one-way airline ticket to Armenia

The “Save a Life” project of the Aleppo NGO has its own unique place within the activities of the organization. Launched in May 2015, the “Save a Life” program aims at supporting those Syrian Armenians who found themselves in difficult financial and psychological conditions in war-thorn Syria and addressed Aleppo NGO asking for help and assistance, and purchasing one-way airline tickets to Armenia for them.

Aleppo NGO summarizes the activities undertaken within the framework of the “Save a Life” program and its results as of January 10, 2017.

Between June 26, 2015 and December 30, 2016, one-way airline tickets to Armenia were purchased for 380 Syrian Armenians through the “Save a Life” program. 359 Syrian Armenians are already settled in Armenia and are building their future in the country, while 21 more people will arrive in Armenia in January 2017.

During 2015, 119 individuals (47 families) were relocated to Armenia from Syria within the framework of the “Save a Life” program. And in 2016, one-way airline tickets to Armenia were purchased for 261 Syrian Armenians, of whom 240 people (112 families) are already settled in Armenia.

In the last three months of 2016, 126 individuals were relocated to Armenia through the “Save a Life” program of Aleppo NGO: 50 people arrived in the country in October, 53 people in November and 23 people in December.

Aleppo NGO implements the “Save a Life” program with the help of the Armenian diaspora spread around the world and with the financial support from institutions which devoted their activities to the welfare of their homeland. Among them are the Initiatives for Development of Armenia (IDeA) Foundation, the Parish Council of the St. Kevork Armenian Apostolic Church of Houston (Texas, USA), Armenian communities of Denmark, Great Britain and USA, as well as benefactors Vrej Kolandjian, Ara and Talar Chalian, Rachel Nadjarian, Teresa Mkhitarian, John Haddad, and many other individual benefactors.

Aleppo NGO expresses its deepest gratitude to individuals and institutions who assisted the organization in launching and implementing the “Save a Life” program.  It is thanks to their irrevocable trust, unshakable faith, unity and humanitarian activities that it became possible to build a bridge between Armenia and the Diaspora and support Syrian Armenians in this difficult situation.
