Syrian Children Participate in an Exhibition Dedicated to the “International Mother Earth Day” at the United Nations Office in Armenia

On April 25, 2017, members of Aleppo-NGO’s Center for Syrian Children and Youth participated in an art exhibition “The Beat of the Nature” organized by the UN Department of Public Information and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Yerevan, Armenia.

The exhibition was dedicated to the International Mother Earth Day, celebrated on April 22 of each year, and to the implementation of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The exhibition is dedicated to the Mother Earth Day celebrated every year, on April 22, and to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly, the “Life on Land” and “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”.

The thematic drawings of the environmental activist and member of the “Save Teghut” movement Mariam Sukhudyan and their duplicates were presented at the exhibition. During the exhibition, the duplicates of Mariam’s drawings were colored by the Syrian children and the pupils of the Gavar orphanage who expressed their preferences and perceptions in the form of art.

Aleppo-NGO highly appreciates this symbolic event and the involvement of the Syrian children in it. Syrian children had an opportunity to learn more about the vital importance of the planet Earth within the safe walls of the United Nations. They left the UN Armenia Office with lively impressions and good memories.
