On February 9th, 2018, Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organisation (Aleppo-NGO) welcomed the support group members within the framework of Socio-Psychological Assistance. The guest speaker of today was Ms. Marlen Danaguezian, an environmentalist, ecologist, and a student at Armenian National Agrarian University.
Ms. Danaguezian first shared useful tips with the audience on how to properly take care of houseplants, and what kinds of biomaterials and supplements to use for better growth of the seedlings and flowers.
Afterwards, she spoke about the culture and language of the plants. Illustrating the flowers that she had brought with her, Ms. Danaguezian shared her knowledge on what each of the flowers symbolized. She mentioned that flowers have unique meanings, and one should be thoughtful of when and how to gift each flower. Plants have fascinating relations with animals, humans, and each other, which is the topic that Ms. Danaguezian concluded her speech with. The women attending this meeting found the subject enticing and did not hesitate to ask any questions to the guest speaker.
Mr. Vrej Kolandjian, former Chairman of the Parish Council of St. Kevork Armenian Church in Huston, Texas, and his spouse Christine Kolanjian, long-term supporters and donors of Aleppo-NGO, joined the meeting as well. They familiarized themselves with ongoing initiatives and programs of the organization and met with the beneficiaries.
