Arevik Center Hosts International Guests for a Festive Afternoon

On June 14th, 2018, “Aleppo” Compatriotic charitable non-governmental organization (Aleppo-NGO) hosted students from Quality High School International (QSI) in Yerevan, who visited in partnership with the U.S. Embassy Armenia Helping Hands to distribute art supplies to Aleppo-NGO’s Arevik-Armenia Center. Students from QSI and participants of Arevik center played music, danced, and worked on arts and crafts in what was a joyful and fun day.

QSI International School in Yerevan hosts students from around the world as well as local students from Armenia, enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. The particular group of students who visited Aleppo-NGO were part of the National Honors Society (NHS), which emphasizes community service and helping others in need as supplementary to the academic focus of the school.

The students were treated to musical and dance performances by students from Arevik Center. Afterwards, QSI students played the guitar and ukulele, singing songs to Arevik students. After a coffee break, QSI students distributed art supplies. As students painted and created with Arevik students, some shared their experiences with NHS and in Armenia. David, a student from the United States and soon-to-be president of the NHS at QSI, said that he is excited to organize more events next year and make connections with more NGO’s and groups in Armenia, as well as volunteer with Aleppo-NGO again in the future.
