Health Issues are in the Focus of the Program “Social-psychological Assistance to Syrian Armenians”

On 21 September, 2018, in the framework of the program “Social-psychological Assistance to Syrian Armenians”, Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO) hosted Vrej Sarkis, a pediatrician and an expert of doppler-duplex ultrasonography. He received his degree of medical science at the University of Cologne in Germany and participated in the training in Austria. After settling in the homeland, he started working in “Muratsan” Hospital.

Dr. V. Sarkis presented the basics of doppler-duplex ultrasonography and discussed the types of complaints, as well as how a person can be diagnosed with this device.

At the meeting, the doctor came with a moveable ultrasonography device, which, in turn, completed the training related to frequently appearing health issues. Thanks to the device, the women at the meeting got acquainted with the possibilities for people with health problems and who are subjected to various types of medical examination.

It is noteworthy that Dr. V. Sarkis arranged a consultation meeting with the participants free of charge: participants with health problems had an opportunity to undergo duplex examination of the head canals, as well as an ultrasound of the thyroid and legs.

As a reminder, the free socio-psychological assistance meetings at Aleppo-NGO provide support to Syrians who went through the war and find themselves experiencing psychological side effects, helping them to recover and become actively involved in the civil life of Armenia.

At the meetings, the priest (APD) and various speakers give lectures. The meetings take place every Friday at the Aleppo-NGO office. The address is 11 Northern Avenue, -1 floor (entrance from Abovyan street).
