On 9 November, 2018, Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO), within the “Socio-psychological Support for Syrian Refugees’’ project, organized a meeting with Dr. Mayda Chavoushian who has settled in Armenia as a result of the Syrian conflict.

She received the qualification of pediatrics at Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi. After that, Dr. Chavoushian worked as a pediatrician in her own clinic for 30 years. In Aleppo, she was a member of the Committee of Education for 10 years and during that period, she authored a number of articles related to health and psychology. In 2012, she returned Armenia.
Dr. Chavoushian spoke about memory: remembering, maintaining and subsequent reproduction of human experience.

“The human brain perceives unlimited information”.

At the meeting, she also discussed how bad memories can be forgotten and how to keep memory.

As a reminder, the free socio-psychological assistance meetings at Aleppo-NGO provide support to Syrians who went through the war and find themselves experiencing psychological side effects, helping them to recover and become actively involved in the civil life of Armenia.

The meetings take place every Friday at 16.00, at Aleppo-NGO office. The address is 11 Northern Avenue, -1 floor (entrance from Abovyan street).
