Aleppo-NGO Hosts Mid-Lent Charity Dinner

The Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO) organized a charity dinner on March 27, 2019. The event was dedicated to the celebration of the Mid-Lent.

Among the event participants were individuals who for many years, have supported Aleppo-NGO’s humanitarian initiatives, aimed at ensuring the well-being of Syrian refugees.

Zepyur Balabanian, a member of Aleppo-NGO, delivered the opening address and thanked attendees for their support of Syrian refugees over the past year. The wide range of activities carried out by the organization would not be possible without the ongoing commitment of its donors.

According to folk tradition, on the Mid-Lent, Armenian housewives are to bake a gourmet bread with a hidden coin placed inside of it. Each member of the family is to receive one piece of bread and whoever finds the hidden coin receives a year of luck. If the coin is touched by the knife, success is granted to the entire family.

The Women’s Committee of Aleppo-NGO also organized a variety of exciting games and prepared beautiful gifts for event participants.

Aleppo-NGO expresses its deepest gratitude to the owners of Jnene restaurant. The organization would like to express special thanks to Zareh Afram and Caro Poghossian for their help in organizing the charity event.

All event proceeds will go towards Aleppo-NGO’s future projects supporting Syrian refugees living in Armenia.
