General Secretary of the ACT Alliance Meets with Syrian and Iraqi Youth at the UN House in Armenia

On 16 May 2019, within the framework of the “Better Future for Syrian-Armenian Youth” project implemented by Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenian Round Table Foundation, youth from Armenia, Syria and Iraq met with the General Secretary of the ACT Alliance, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, at the UN House in Armenia.

During the meeting, the General Secretary of the Alliance introduced the organization’s wide-ranging activities to the youth, highlighting the Alliance’s incorporation of more than 150 churches and church-related organizations and its humanitarian missions in more than 125 countries.

During the event, representatives of Aleppo-NGO and ART presented the outcome of their recently implemented 4-day workshop on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organizations also displayed a short movie that demonstrated the achievements of the workshop. Many of the participants of the workshop also presented their vision for change and the fulfillment of SDGs in Armenia.

The General Secretary appreciated the importance of the UN SDGs workshop organized by Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation, noting that only through the united efforts of youth worldwide we can realize the SDGs. The General Secretary called upon youth to have their investment and develop new projects aimed at the implementation of SGDs.
