Financial Assistance to Syrian Refugees and Local Vulnerable Families
In June 2019, financial assistance was distributed to 24 Syrian refugee and socially vulnerable local Armenian families.
The financial assistance was generated through the proceeds of a charity food sale, organized at a kiosk provided by the Municipality of the City of Yerevan, implemented by Aleppo Cuisine Center during the months of March and April 2019.
During that month, traditional Armenian and Middle Eastern lent food was sold by Aleppo Cuisine Center to generate profits and distribute them to vulnerable Syrian and local families during Easter.
Aleppo Cuisine is a social enterprise established by Aleppo-NGO to create employment opportunities for Syrian refugees in Armenia. The enterprise has been funded and supported by a host of individuals and organizations from around the world, including AGBU Armenia, Caritas Armenia and Caritas Austria, the European Union, GIZ Armenia, St. Kevork Armenian Apostolic Church of Houston-Texas, the Embassy of Japan in Armenia, the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, Mr. Vreij Kolandjian, Dr. and Mrs. Österbauer-Tanielian, and many others.
