“Arevik-Armenia” Center’s Meeting at Aleppo-NGO

On October 19, 2019, a meeting of the members of “Arevik-Armenia” center for Syrian-Armenian children of special needs was held at the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO) with the participation of representatives of the Women’s council, Board of Trustees and the Staff of the Center.

“Arevik” center has stopped its activities for a while, but the members of the center and the Staff organize regular meetings on various occasions in order to bring back the warm and cordial atmosphere of the Center.

The meeting was accompanied with songs, dances and games. The children prepared handicraft works by themselves. Bags and school supplies were distributed to the members of the Center by Aleppo-NGO.

The meeting ended with the hospitality from “Aleppo Cuisine” center and the attendees said goodbye to each other with the expectation of meeting again.

During the years of activity of “Arevik-Armenia” center, children with disabilities received inclusive education free of charge, such as mathematics courses, painting, musical, physical, as well as theater-therapy and speech development classes. The children with special needs, who had undergone the Syrian war, were released from linguistic obstacles and obtained various skills for handmade works. “Arevik-Armenia” center received support from many individual benefactors and organizations, such as “MTS Armenia”, US Embassy in Armenia and “UMCOR-Armenia” Charitable Foundation.
