Nora Toprakji: Profession-Architect

We are pleased to present Nora Toprakji, our next participant of professional paid-internship program, which is being organized within the framework of the “Better Future for Syrian-Armenian Youth” project.

“I am from Aleppo, Syria. In 2011 because of Syrian war, with my family I moved to motherland Armenia,”- says Nora.

To the question why he has chosen the profession of architect, Nora answers, “Being affected by traces of war in Aleppo and having huge love toward painting and creativity, I decided to continue my education in architecture profession. In 2015 I applied Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction and during my 4 years of study, I gained a lot of love toward my profession. It’s great pleasure for me to create such an environment, which will be comfortable, safe and beautiful for each person.

In 2019 Nora received her bachelor degree and applied for master program. “Two weeks ago, I started my professional internship at Archangel architectural studio, for which I would like to express my gratitude to Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation for availing me such opportunity.

During my internship I understood that I should take my profession more seriously. Due to the internship, I studied construction materials more closely and now I am involved in different projects. Currently, with Archangel studio’s team, I am working on the interior design of the cafeteria. I have worked on kitchen equipment and organic glass ornaments projects as well,”- says Nora with excitement.

From November 4, 2019, a two-month professional paid-internship program has been launched within the framework of the “Better Future for Syrian-Armenian Youth” project, for 15 Syrian-Armenian youth studying at Armenian universities. The project is funded by the World Council of Churches Armenia Inter-Church Charitable Round Table Foundation (ART) and implemented by Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable NGO (Aleppo-NGO). The main goal of the professional internships is to improve the skills and capacities of students and graduates, to enlarge their knowledge in professional field, to give an opportunity to gain work experience, as well as to get acquainted with working environment.
