Intern Nanor Apelian: Graphic Designer

We are pleased to present Nanor Apelian, our next participant of professional paid-internship program, which is being organized within the framework of the “Better Future for Syrian-Armenian Youth” project.

“Hi I’m Nanor, 17 years old, from Aleppo, Syria. Currently, I live in Yerevan and study in the 3rd course of  Yerevan State College of Arts named after P. Terlemezian, in the faculty of Design.

I love art, its beauty, all the interesting theories and, why not, all its problems and complications. I’ve chosen graphic design as my future profession and how it happened … I just woke up one day and decided “It is what I want “. TUMO for creative technologies centre has also played a significant role for my inspiration.

For all students, internship is the most important thing to make it easier for them to get a job in the future, to be more confident in their every move. And this wonderful opportunity has been provided me by “Better Future for Syrian-Armenian Youth” project, for which I am extremely grateful.

In two weeks, my 2-month internship will be over, which I enjoy at colorful DigiLab company. DigiLab is a digital marketing company in Armenia, where my job is designing social networking posts for a number of partners of DigiLab.

For any beginner, there is always the fear of entering a new environment. The same thing happened to me, but in my case it took less than 10 minutes. When I first entered into the DigiLab’s office, I met a positive, creative, colorful team, felt a warm atmosphere, and a desire to support the newcomer in every way… all my worries passed at once.

Besides the improvement of my skills, DigiLab also reinforces in me three of the most important qualities – confidence, willingness and responsibility, which are important not only for designers, but for all those, who enter into the work life.

And for all this, I express my deep gratitude to Aleppo NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation for availing me and other Syrian-Armenian youth such an opportunity.”

From November 4, 2019, a two-month professional paid-internship program has been launched within the framework of the “Better Future for Syrian-Armenian Youth” project, for 15 Syrian-Armenian youth studying at Armenian universities. The project is funded by the World Council of Churches Armenia Inter-Church Charitable Round Table Foundation (ART) and implemented by Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable NGO (Aleppo-NGO). The main goal of the professional internships is to improve the skills and capacities of students and graduates, to enlarge their knowledge in professional field, to give an opportunity to gain work experience, as well as to get acquainted with working environment.

Below are presented Nanor Apelian’s works prepared during her internship at DigiLab company.
