Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation- Marketing Intern Lilit Harutyunyan Share her Experience… Bright Future for Youth Project

We are happy to present to you AUA Master student Lilit Harutyunyan, a participant of the paid-internship program of the  “Bright Future for Youth” project. The project is implemented by Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO)  by the fund of the WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation.

Hello Dear Reader,

I am Lilit. An enthusiastic student who has a vision of a great future, undoubtedly like most of you. The journey to success is long, sometimes tedious, uprising, energizing, and from time to time even worrisome.

I would like to share with you my story where I not only kick-started my career but as well became a part of a great family.

One of my features is to apply for any open position, to cling to any opportunity. Constantly try, work, experiment. That’s how I applied to the “Bright Future for Youth” project. Months later I became a marketing intern at WICASTR company. Gladly, I can say that it has a learning environment and supportive people.

During the job interview, I really fell in love with my future colleagues. They were so welcoming. I shared the culture they had, enjoyed their hobbies. It was love from first sight.

There was no end to my excitement and joy.

Days after the successful interview I got a call from another company.  I was offered a well-paid position and decided to go to that interview as well. Just try and see what’s better for me. Though, this one was hate and displeasure from the first sight. Though, the offered salary was high.

And here comes the tough part. My greatest weakness is making decisions.  So I struggled for days to decide which job to choose: a great internship or a well-paid job. I was experiencing mixed emotions: enjoying the work process or working for salary.

And here comes the moral of the story. I have never made a better choice in my life. Of course, I chose the WICASTR company, the one where I would really enjoy every moment of my work. I mastered my professional skills during these months, learned a lot, and became a better professional.

Dear students, future professionals, I am sure there is a lot of peer pressure when you see your already successful peers. You also want to achieve heights as soon as possible. But keep in mind, success starts when you remain faithful to yourself. Follow your heart, and your passion. Small but steady steps eventually make us fly.

The paid internship component of the “Bright Future for Youth” project  of Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation, enables talented youth to be involved in the activities of the most prestigious public and private sector institutions of the Republic of Armenia, paving a way for a successful career. Through the paid internship component, students and recent graduates improve their skills by working in various environments and gaining professional experience while working side-by-side with experienced professionals.

The “Bright Future for Youth” project was launched on 1 February 2020.
