Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation: Participant of the Paid-Internship Program Elya Minasyan

We are happy to present to you YSMU student Elya Minasyan, a participant of the paid-internship program of the “Bright Future for Youth” project. The project is implemented by Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO) by the fund of the WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation. Elya is doing her internship at the Hematology Center after prof. R. Yeolyan.

My name is Elya Minasyan, I was born in Lusakunq village of Gegharkunik region. I am a 6th-year student at the Faculty of General Medicine of Yerevan State Medical University. I chose the profession of a doctor based on my special interest in medicine and natural sciences, particularly chemistry during my school years, which were greatly influenced by the library of Alek Poghosyan, a wonderful scientist living in the same district years ago. The next way of self-development was to make a decision in choosing a profession, then due to two years of intense training I was admitted to YSMU in 2015.

My years of study were not very smooth, I had both ups and downs. During my studies, I have been a member of the Student Scientific Society of YSMU, where i was involved in organizing various scientific and educational events and participated in some research works.

In the recent years of education, job search was a priority for me. In this context and this year, the “Bright Future for Youth” project implemented by the Aleppo-NGO and the WCC Round Table Foundation, played a very important role. The project became the stimulus, due to which I am doing an internship already 2 months in the field of my future profession oncohematology.

I am doing my internship at the Center of Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders, at the Department of Pediatric Oncology, where i learn about diseases, peculiarities of practical activities, as well as by communicating with the doctors of the department, I have much more desire to master in this field, thanks to their knowledge and warm attitude.

I am grateful to Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation for including me in this program, as well as to the Center of Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders for the opportunity.

The paid internship component of the “Bright Future for Youth” project of Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation, enables talented youth to be involved in the activities of the most prestigious public and private sector institutions of the Republic of Armenia, paving a way for a successful career. Through the paid internship component, students and recent graduates improve their skills by working in various environments and gaining professional experience while working side-by-side with experienced professionals.

The “Bright Future for Youth” project was launched on 1 February 2020.
