Participants of the Paid-Internship Program. Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation

We would like to introduce you to some of the participants of the paid internship program of the “Bright Future for Youth” project, within which interns had a month to develop their skills, gain work experience in leading Armenian companies and organizations while receiving a salary at the same time. The project is implemented by Aleppo-NGO with the support of the WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation.

I am Lina Lalayan from Stepanakert, Artsakh. I study at Mesrop Mashtots University, majoring in “Enterprise Management”, first year of the master’s program. I have always stressed the importance of internship in my education. Due to the circumstances, I have been living in Yerevan for several months, so I decided not to waste my time and registered in the “Bright Future for Youth” project. I am interning at the Card Foundation, where I am doing various jobs related to my profession (drafting contracts, drafting delivery-acceptance acts, working with AS). This month gave me the opportunity to meet professionals in various fields and work in a pleasant atmosphere with the entire staff. I acquired professional skills, which, surely, I will need in the future.

I am Lilia Voskanyan, I was born in 1996 in Artashat, RA, in an intellectual’s family. In 2000, my family and I moved to the Alashkert community of the Kashatagh region of Artsakh, wherein 2002-2014 I studied and graduated from the secondary school of Alashkert village. In 2014, I entered the “Finance Management” department of the Stepanakert branch of the Yerevan National Agrarian University of the Republic of Armenia, which was later renamed Shushi Technological University. In the same year, I started to work at Alashkert Secondary School as an operator for 6 years.

In November 2020, due to the war situation, I moved to Artashat, RA, as our territories, the southern part of Kashatagh, came under the control of Azerbaijan.

From December 1, 2020, I started to do an internship at UCOM company within the framework of the “Bright Future for Youth” project. Here I got acquainted with the sales-service skills, with the services provided by Ucom and the types of products. I have also learned to do some software transactions. I managed to love and get close with the UCOM team. I would like to thank all the people who are by our side, giving us the opportunity to move and achieve new success.

I am Rosa Hovsepyan from Berdzor, Kashatagh region, Artsakh. My family consists of five members. We have been living in Artsakh for twenty-two years.

In 2011-2015 I attended the Design department of Berdzor Art School and received a certificate as a painter.

In 2016, I entered the Department of Architecture of Shushi Technological University, and in 2020, I was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

In 2019 I have participated in the Pan-Armenian Student Forum organized by the STU and have received a certificate from Arayik Harutyunyan.

From August 1 to September 27, 2020, I had an internship in the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Kashatagh District, Artsakh. But because of the Azerbaijani-Artsakh war, we left our house on September 28 and settled in the Syunik region. In November, I learned that Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation have announced paid internship program for the youth of Artsakh. This is a program that allowed me to improve my professional skills. Now I am doing my internship at A1 Studio thanks to the “Bright Future for Youth” project.

My name is Tatev Tadevosyan, I was born in Stepanakert. In 2016-2020, I have continued my studies at the special school of physics and mathematics after A. Shahinian. In 2020 I applied to the Faculty of Architecture and Construction of Shushi Technological University.

Due to the Artsakh-Azerbaijani war started on September 27, 2020, my family and I moved to Yerevan on September 29, where we live on rent.

Since November I am doing my internship at A1 Studio within the framework of the “Bright Future for Youth” project.

My name is Flora Chilingaryan, I am from Stepanakert, Artsakh. I have graduated from the “Finance” department of Artsakh State University. Currently, I study at the “Agribusiness” department of Shushi Technological University (Master’s degree).

Due to the Artsakh-Azerbaijani war started on September 27, 2020, I moved to Yerevan. In the meantime, within the framework of the “Bright Future for Youth” project, I had the opportunity to have a professional internship at CARD (Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development) Foundation.

My name is Anna Hovhannisyan. I have graduated from the Social work department of the Armenian State Pedagogical University. Currently, I continue my education with a Master’s degree at ASPU. I love my profession and as a specialist, I have high hopes and expectations from my professional activity. Of course, I do not forget the importance of continuous self-education and volunteering for a wide range of professional experience. For a month, I am doing an internship at FAR Children’s Support Center Foundation, where I carry out professional activities and gain professional experience. Of course, this wonderful opportunity was given to me by the “Bright Future for Youth” project (within the framework of the paid internships) implemented by Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation. The program provides wonderful opportunities for all young people who have education but not experience. I have been involved in the needs assessment programs of the families from Artsakh, as well as carry out social work with the children of the center.

I am grateful to Aleppo-NGO and Armenia Round Table Foundation for providing such a wonderful opportunity. I would like to thank also the Director of FAR Child Support Center Foundation and the staff for their constructive cooperation and warm welcome.

I am Knarik Karapetyan from Stepanakert, capital of Artsakh. I am a fourth-year student of the “Caucasian Studies” at the Mesrop Mashtots University of Stepanakert. I have participated in various programs and volunteer activities along with my studies.

Because of the war started on September 27, we moved to Yerevan. Now I am doing my internship at YSU in the Scientific Laboratory for Strategic Research, thanks to the “Bright Future for Youth” Project.

I am Voskehat Vardanyan, I was born in the city of Artashat, Ararat region, RA. In 2016-2020 I studied in the Veterinary Department of the Shushi branch of ANAU. In 2020 I was admitted to the Master’s degree program in the Faculty of Veterinary. Unfortunately, my studies were interrupted because of the war. On 17 October 2020, due to the war, we moved to the Ararat region, RA. My brothers have just returned from the front.

In November, I applied to the “Bright Future for Youth” project’s paid internship program, implemented by Aleppo-NGO and WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation. Already a week I am doing my internship at the Vet Line Veterinary Clinic in Yerevan.

My name is Maria. I’m from Artsakh, from Hadrout city. I was born on May 2, 1997. I’m a translator, currently studying at Artsakh State University getting a master’s degree in the field of English language and literature.

On September 29 we fled to Armenia, Yerevan city because of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan war. My city Hadrout was attacked and then captured by Azerbaijan military army. Now, we are planning, for not a long time, to stay here as we’ve lost our house, job, and our land.

On November 30, I was chosen to be part of the Repat Armenia Foundation. They’ve planned an internship for Artsakh youth to interact and to take part in something great, to get new knowledge so we can use it to improve our Artsakh.

I’m endlessly thankful for your support and cooperation. We really need it!

I am Erica Abrahamyan. I was born on July 26, 1999, in the city of Hadrout, Artsakh.In 2005-2016 I studied in the secondary school after Manvelyan in Hadrout.

In 2016-2020, I graduated from the Faculty of Law, Department of History of the Artsakh State University. In 2019, my friends and I founded the “Perspective NGO”, I was the coordinator of the educational projects. I have participated in a number of courses.

Due to the Azerbaijani-Karabakh war that started on September 27, 2020, I with my family moved to Yerevan on September 28,2020, where we live on rent.

Now I am doing my internship at the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization.

I am Isabella Grigoryan, I was born in 1999 in the city of Stepanakert. In 2011-2012 I have studied at Aznavour’s Dance College, and already in 2018, I entered the Department of Dance Art of the Faculty of Culture of the ASPU Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovyan. I am doing my internship at “Avan cultural house“.

I am very grateful to Aleppo-NGO and WCC Round Table Foundation for giving me such a great opportunity. Thanks to you, I gained a lot of experience from my professional internship. I would like such programs to be frequent, to give young people the opportunity to move forward.

My name is Diana Sahakyan. I am from Berdzor, Kashatagh region. I have graduated from YSU Faculty of History, Department of Culturology. After completing my Bachelor’s degree, I applied for a Master’s degree in the same department. I did part of my Master’s program in the Department of Medieval Archeology at the University of Florence in Italy.

Since my academic years, I have participated in a number of research projects in Armenia, Artsakh, Italy, as well as volunteered at the KAZA Foundation, the UNHCR and other organizations.After graduating from university, I worked at KAZA Foundation for “Refugees’ Social and Educational Program” as a program coordinator.

In November by applying to the “Bright Future for Youth” project of Aleppo-NGO and Armenia Round Table Foundation, I had a professional internship in the HR department of Ucom company. During my internship, I gained knowledge related to human resource management, as well as had the opportunity to use my resources for the purpose.

I am Helen Asryan, I was born in Stepanakert, Artsakh. I am a 4th-year student of the Translation Department of the Artsakh State University, Faculty of Philology. As because of the war the classes were interrupted, as well as the academic internship, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Aleppo-NGO and the WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation, which I learned about in social media. I am doing my internship at the Yezidi Center for Human Rights NGO and I am very satisfied with the professional internship and thank you for giving such an opportunity to us- Artsakh youth.

The “Bright Future for Youth” project was launched on 1 February 2020. The project aims to develop the skills of Syrians, Iraqi and other refugees, and local youth, by providing them with scholarships, capacity building trainings, and ensuring work experience through professional internships. Throughout 2020 within the framework of Project 60 professional internships were organized, due to which young people had the opportunity to gain professional experience for up to 3 months in the public/private sector.
