On June 16, 2017, a charitable event and trip to Saint Mesrop Mashtots Cathedral was organized by the women’s team of the social-psychological meetings that take place at the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization-NGO (Aleppo-NGO).
Sixty Syrians participated in the charitable initiative. The guests visited the Saint Mesrop Mashtots Cathedral and the grave of Mesrop Mashtots in the village of Oshakan.
Their next stop was at the “Old Ashtarak” restaurant where a delicious treat was arranged for everyone. A member of Aleppo-NGO’s Women’s Council, Gohar Markeyan, greeted the guests with some welcoming remarks. The guests of the event also participated in various games and raffles and received encouraging gift packages.
The Executive Board of the Aleppo-NGO would like to express its sincere gratitude to Aghavni Vehapetyan from Switzerland and all those who generously offered donations. These contributions will ensure the continuation of Aleppo-NGO’s activities and help to solve the problems faced by the Syrian community settled in Armenia.
The free, social-psychological assistance meetings provide support to Syrians who went through the war and find themselves experiencing psychological side effects, helping them to recover and become actively involved in the civil life of Armenia.
The meetings take place on a regular basis, hosting qualified psychologists and experts who provide Syrians settled in Armenia with adequate help thanks to their deep knowledge and skills.
