“Medical Aid to Syrian Armenians in need settled in Armenia” project launched in Yerevan

On March 17, 2017, the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable NGO attended the official launch of the “Medical Aid to Syrian Armenians in need settled in Armenia” project and the ceremony of signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation.

The inaugural ceremony of the “Medical Aid to Syrian Armenians in need settled in Armenia” project took place at the Izmirlian Medical Center.

The goal of the project is to provide free medical aid to Syrian Armenians in need settled in Armenia since 2012 because of the civil war in Syria.

The “Medical Aid to Syrian Armenians in need settled in Armenia” project is initiated and supported by the Izmirlian Foundation, which also co-finances the project together with the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Izmirlian Medical Center will implement the project, providing the beneficiaries of the project with special rates on all medical services available at the center.

Within the framework of the project, the Aleppo CCO will conduct evaluation of the project beneficiaries’ applications, submitting them to the Izmirlian Foundation and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin for approval.

Among the partners of the project are also the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia, the Armenian General Benevolent Union, and the Center for Coordination of Syrian Armenians’ Issues NGO.
