On 14 December, 2018, Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO) organized a regular meeting to provide social-psychological support to Syrian refugees in Armenia.
The guest speaker of the meeting is well-known to us – spiritual pastor, Fr. Pargev Priest Palgevorgyan of Saint Hakob Church from Araratian Pontifical Diocesein in Mrgavan village. He launched the meeting with a prayer. Fr. Pargev continued to speak about concupiscence, which is the 7th of 7 deadly sins of Armenian Apostolic Church.
The concupiscence means having impure thoughts, thinking about impure and obscene things.
This sin creates shameless views, impertinence and effrontery, uttering obscene words that can corrupt a person’s body and soul. Each Christian should be able to control his mind, because very often it turns into a war zone, where good and evil, pure and unclean are fighting. We must make every effort for the good and the pure to overcome.
In the end, the participants came up with questions in their concern and got answers
As a reminder, the free socio-psychological assistance meetings at Aleppo-NGO provide support to Syrians who went through the war and find themselves experiencing psychological side effects, helping them to recover and become actively involved in the civil life of Armenia.
At the meetings, the priest (APD) and various speakers give lectures.
The meetings take place every Friday, at 16:00, at the Aleppo-NGO office.
The address is 11 Northern Avenue, -1 floor (entrance from Abovyan street).
