On February 19, 2017, the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable NGO, in cooperation with World Vision Armenia organization, launched the “Skills and Knowledge for Youth Economic-empowerment” project.
Initiated by World Vision Armenia, the project is implemented with financing from the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration of the US Department of State.
Syrian and local youth who applied for the project, were gathered together at the center of the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable NGO, where the official launch of the project took place.
The vice-president of the Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable NGO Hayasa Tahmazyan and the representative of the World Vision Armenia organization, coordinator of the “Skills and Knowledge for Youth Economic-empowerment” project Nare Harutyunyan welcomed guests in their opening remarks and introduced the project.
In their turn, the coordinators of the youth club formed within the framework of the “Skills and Knowledge for Youth Economic-empowerment” project at Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable NGO Karen Balkhian and Hovsep Grigoryan shared information on creating and coordinating the activities of the youth club, as well as introduced the schedule for thematic discussions, guest receptions and events organized within the framework of the project.
Under the guidance of the youth club coordinators, the participants got acquainted with each other, discussed their visions regarding the project, as well as outlined the main programs and perspectives for future cooperation, actively contributing the foundation of the youth club.
The energy and eagerness of the youth gives us hope that the project will accomplish its goals and will stimulate a more active involvement of the Syrian and local youth in the civil life, helping them to realize themselves fully. The project will also provide them with new knowledge and skills, which will contribute to implementation of innovative ideas.
